One of the largest structural steel and miscellaneous metals shops in Central Pennsylvania, with more than 4,000 projects completed.

Stephen Fisher Sr. started building fire escapes and iron railings in his Rawlinsville garage in 1962. Today Steve and Kurt Fisher and the third generation of the family run an 82,000 square foot plant in Lancaster with heavy crane capacity, a FICEP drill line and our own AISC-certified erection crews. We fabricate and erect the steel, stairs and railings on transit, school, university and commercial work across the Mid-Atlantic.

Our capabilities

Structural steel fabrication

Our 60,000 square foot structural shop runs a FICEP drill line that cuts, drills and lays out beams up to 40 inches deep, which makes assembly four times faster. With 30-ton lifting capacity, a 15-acre yard holding 1,000 tons of stock and our own rail siding, we handle heavy columns, plate girders and large trusses and keep them moving to your site on schedule.

AISC-certified steel erection

We are an AISC Advanced Certified Steel Erector, so the company that fabricates your steel also sets it. Our crews have raised station towers beside rail lines at night, lifted pedestrian bridges into place and topped out school and university frames across the Mid-Atlantic.

Ornamental and miscellaneous metals

Stainless rails, curved stairs, metal pan stairs and glass railings come out of our separate 20,000 square foot miscellaneous metals shop, which has its own mandrel pipe bender, pipe roller and brush finishing for stainless pipe. The stairs and glass rails at the Lancaster Convention Center are one example of that work.

In-house detailing and design

We detail the structural steel and design the ornamental metals ourselves, so your team works with one contractor instead of several. Drawings, fabrication and erection stay under one roof in Lancaster, which saves coordination time on your side and money for the owner.

Universities at Shady Grove

We completed the Biomedical Sciences and Education Facility at the Universities at Shady Grove in Rockville, Maryland, where a monumental open stair and glass railings wrap the atrium.
